2007 Honors and Awards

Congratulations to Tamara Marks, Joseph Williams, Christy Flanagan, Mike Pasquier, and Scott Cason. Each received the following prestigious awards and/or fellowships:

   

Tamara Marks received the Kierkegaard House Foundation Residency Fellowship for the 2008 calendar year. The Kierkegaard House Foundation offers housing and financial assistance to long-term resident scholars at the Kierkegaard Library.

Joseph Williams was awarded one of the four FSU Kingsbury Fellowships for the 2007-2008 Academic Year. The Fellowship offers $10,000 to graduate students who demonstrate "excellence of thought and expression, creativity, and originality.”

 

Christy Flanagan received the DAAD fellowship (Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst) to support a two-month intensive language study program in Germany this summer.

Mike Pasquier received the 2007-2008 Graduate Student Research and Creativity Award. Three awards are given each year: one for math/engineering, one for social and behavioral sciences, and one for humanities and arts.

Scott Cason received an Outstanding Teaching Associates Award for the 2006-2007 academic year. Nominated by faculty and students, the recipients submitted teaching portfolios, which allowed the teaching assistants to be evaluated for their instructional skills, course structure, accessibility and rapport with students, among other criteria.
