Every year, the DeVoe L. Moore Center for the Study of Critical Issues in
Economic Policy and Government sponsors a dissertation fellowship
competition open to doctoral students in the College of Social
Sciences who have been admitted to candidacy. Students writing
dissertations on subjects related to the Center's mission
are encouraged to apply, although preference will be given to
dissertations evaluating the impacts of state and local regulations.
The Fellowship offers a $17,500 stipend for 12 months, during
which time the recipient is to devote full time to dissertation
research. The application requires a prospectus that concisely
describes the problems and clearly identifies methods and data
to be used in the analysis (not to exceed 15 pages), and a letter
of support from the supervising professor. Applicants may also
be eligible for a supplemental grant to cover required research
expenses.
Inquiries and applications should be sent to Keith Ihlanfeldt,
Director of the DeVoe L. Moore Center, via e-mail (kihlanfe@mailer.fsu.edu)
or by calling the DeVoe L. Moore Center at (850) 644-3848.
