Rachel hails from the great state of Texas, and is known to implore her colleagues to believe that it really isn't all that bad there, and that the area in which she grew up is far from being a desert. When Rachel is not overtly studying philosophy or grading papers, she spends her time reading books, watching massive amounts of television, reading comic strips, writing fiction, planning retirement, musing on her fallback career as a private investigator, and spending time with her husband, Michael, and their beloved mutt, Goose.
