Workshop on Moral Responsibility Saturday, 24 January 2009

The FSU Department of Philosophy will host a Workshop on Moral Responsibility on Saturday, 24 January 2009, in room 204 of the Longmire Building. Organized by the philosophy department's own Randolph Clarke & Michael McKenna, this workshop will bring together leading scholars of moral responsibility, including Dana Nelkin, George Sher, David Shoemaker, and Michael Zimmerman.

The Philosophy Department will continue the fall portion of its annual colloquium series on Friday, 17 October 2008 at 3:30 pm in 103 Dodd Hall Auditorium (DHA). The department welcomes Professor Gideon Yaffe, professor of philosophy at the University of Southern Californa. Professor Yaffe's talk is titled "Trying by Asking: Solicitation as Attempt". Copies of the paper are available in 151 Dodd Hall.

Philosophy Graduate Student Association Friday Presentation

The FSU Department of Philosophy Graduate Student Association (PGSA) will continue the 2nd year of its Friday Presentations program on Friday, 31 October 2008 at 3:30 pm in 103 Dodd Hall Auditorium (DHA). This graduate student run program allows graduate students in the department the opportunity to present papers to their peers on current research projects as they prepare for upcoming conferences or submissions for publication. The second talk of the 2008-2009 academic year will be given by Clifford Sosis. The title of his talk will be announced soon.
