FLORIDA STATE UNIVERSITY
DEPARTMENT OF MODERN LANGUAGES AND LINGUISTICS
The Spanish Division of the
Department of Modern Languages and Linguistics would like to welcome you
to the Basic Spanish Program. This program consists of a three-semester
sequence of courses SPN 1120, SPN 1121, and SPN 2200, that, when completed,
fulfills the language requirement in arts and sciences. Additionally,
we offer SPN 1150, an intensive course which covers the same material as
SPN 1120 and SPN 1121 in a single semester. Courses emphasize the
communicative skills of listening and speaking within cultural contexts,
the reading of authentic materials, and the writing of short compositions
in order to enable students to function at a survival level within the
culture.
