Michael Leeser

Dr. Leeser (Ph.D. University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign) is an Assistant Professor of Spanish and Director of the Spanish Basic Language Program. His research interests include input processing during second language reading as well as second language classroom interaction. His research has appeared in journals such as Studies in Second Language Acquisition and Language Teaching Research. He is also the co-author (along with Bill VanPatten and Greg Keating) of the first-year Spanish textbook Sol y viento (McGraw-Hill, 2005). He has been awarded an MCI fellowship for 2004-2006 to develop technology-enhanced hybrid courses for the Spanish Basic Language Program.
