Keith Howard

Dr. Keith Howard (Ph.D. University of Virginia) pursues research in Renaissance and Baroque literature in Italy, Spain and Colonial Latin America.  His long-term project is to explore the reception of Machiavelli in early-modern Spanish political thought as expressed in several genres, including treatises, historiography, epic poetry and theater.  Currently he is working on a critical edition of a 1552 Spanish translation of Machiavelli’s Discourses on Livy.
