Enrique Álvarez

Dr. Enrique Álvarez (Ph. D. University of Illinois at Urbana/Champaign). Assistant Professor of Spanish. Modern Spanish Peninsular Literature and Cultural Studies. Gay and Lesbian Studies and Critical Theory. His work investigates the relationship between representation of space, poetic discourse and male homosexuality, mainly in the works of Federico García Lorca, Luis Cernuda, Jaime Gil de Biedma and Luis Antonio de Villena. His research has appeared in top journals in the field such as Hispania (2008), Revista Hispánica Moderna (2006), and Revista de Estudios Hispánicos (2005). He is preparing a book manuscript titled Dentro/Fuera: Los territorios del afecto homosexual masculino en la poesía española contemporánea.
