Application Procedures

An application for admission may be obtained from Dr. Kenneth Brewer, College of Education, 307 Stone Building, Florida State University, Tallahassee, FL 32306-4453. Tel: (850) 644-8781. The applicant should confer with a PEC advisor concerning the selection of courses to be completed for the Certificate.

Any graduate student in good standing at the Florida State University, or any individual eligible to enroll as a special student (non-degree seeking), is eligible to apply for admission to the Program Evaluation Certificate program.

Certificate Requirements

Completion of 15 approved semester credit hours, with a GPA of 3.25 and no grade lower than a B. The program of studies must be completed within a five year period* and include two of the three following evaluation theory and methods courses.

The Program Evaluation Certificate also requires a minimum of one course in data collection methods and one course in data analysis methods (see Program Evaluation Cerficate Course Requirements). None of the courses on the program of studies may be satisfied by transfer credits from other universities.

* Exceptions can be made for these who have been working in the field of evaluation subsequent to their completion of one or more courses on the Evaluation Certificate list.
