Most graduate students receive some form of financial assistance. Those with relatively high total scores on the verbal and quantitative portions of the Graduate Record Examination may apply for University and College Fellowships. The application deadline for university fellowships for each following academic year is January 15th (other fellowships have later closing dates).

Many students are awarded assistantships on various grants and contracts which are obtained periodically by the faculty. These may become available at any time during the year. The Instructional Systems Program offers the Ruby Diamond Fellowship to a newly admitted student each year. No separate form is required to apply for a graduate assistantship. The regular departmental admission form serves this purpose.
