Dr. Patrice Iatarola
Assistant Professor
Patrice Iatarola is an assistant professor in the Educational Policy, Planning & Analysis program area of the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies. She received her Ph.D. from The Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service, New York University. Dr. Iatarola's research focuses on school finance, resource allocation, accountability, performance and costs. She is particularly interested in urban education and has concentrated much of her research efforts on New York City's public schools. Her articles have been published in Economics of Education Review, Educational Evaluation and Policy Analysis and Journal of Education Finance. Currently, she is undertaking a study of the impact of high stakes testing on high school graduation rates.
Dr. Iatarola teaches the following graduate courses; Introduction to Policy Studies in Education, Urban Education Policy, Education and Equality, and Policy Analysis in Education. Before joining the faculty of Florida State University, Dr. Iatarola was a senior research scientist at New York University's Institute for Education and Social Policy.
