Located in the College of Social Sciences, the FSU Social Sciences Data Center (SSDC) provides a wide range of teaching, research and service functions for the FSU faculty and students as well as state and local governments and non-profit organizations. The Center houses the FSU Survey Research Laboratory, the Social Science Data Archives, the GIS Laboratory, and the Data Analysis Unit.

The purpose of the Social Sciences Data Center is to promote and facilitate quality teaching, research, and service related to understanding of social, economic, political, and policy issues. Through its four constituent units, the Center offers many diverse services to support all aspects of social science research and education needs of FSU faculty, students, and government and non-profit organizations.
